The use of phones and other personal technology devices in school has always been a highly debated topic. Some believe that phones and other devices can pose a great distraction, while others believe that they can help improve students' learning experience.

With social media such as Facebook and Twitter, students could easily get distracted in class. They could look at posts and talk to their friends for quite a long time on these websites. This would greatly distract from a students learning experience.

Students could also look up important information on their phones. Students could look up sources for essays, the definition of words in multiple languages, and keep updating on their assignments via Canvas. It's virtually impossible to make an argument for this things being counterproductive.

In the end, it really matter how students use their phones and devices. The can be either counterproductive or extremely helpful in completing assignments.
